AIM:-
- Fineness by wet sieving of fly ash test As per IS:1727 - (1967).
- Specification IS-3812 (Part 1) - 2003
- Sampling IS- Code IS: 6491
APPARATUS:-
- Is sieve 45 micron Brass Sieve.
- Electrical hot air oven,
- Wash botle,
- Enamel tray. Tap etc.
PROCEDURE:-
- In sieve test 100g fly ash taken it is sieved for 15 minutes though IS Sieve 45 micron.
- With Top water continuously passed through the IS Sieve 45 micron when the water are not pure the continuously sieved the fly ash. But fly ash shaking under the sieve with hand after a few minutes water are passed through sieved are pure.
- then stop the Tap and residue left on the sieve combine in the enamel tray. Fly Ash sieved properly cleaned with the water and the enamel tray are put in the Electrical Hot air oven/ Hot plate Temperature 105⁰c to 110⁰c.
- After the drying enamel tray are out in the Electrical hot air oven collect the sample in the plate. At last weight the fly ash sample on digital balance.
CALCULATIONS:-
- This residue should not be more then 34% if the sample is between 34% the it belongs to Grade-I. If the sample is in between 50% then it belongs to Grade-II.
